In a recent article -- Medical Fakery and the Intentional Placebo Effect -- I argued in the comments stream that our minds and our bodies are failing us faster even as medicine advances quicker than ever while we live our two lifetimes.

Google is tracking your every sniffle and sneeze beyond just the general health of your body.  If you aren't feeling well -- and i fyou have the flu, and if you happen to chance upon Google to help you find a remedy -- your want to feel better is indexed, quantified, and panopticonically reported to the CDC by Google.

"Nosocomial" means "hospital acquired" and few people believe you can get infected by bacteria lurking in a hospital.  We are often of the notion that hospitals and medical offices are always sanitary and cleaned every day.  Sometimes, though, other patients can infect us with their ills when we visit our doctors.  When your hospital makes you sicker, you have a nosocomial infection.

Gordon Davidescu wrote this article.

Normally, when I am enveloped in a retail experience, I can hardly say that I am overwhelmed by the service. The prototype for the Nike Hindsight shades is a transforming experience for Deaf consumers.

Technology shapes us and betters us, but sometimes it can also belittle our best intentions.  The Talking-Points project is a new idea that hopes to use embedded Bluetooth tags placed strategically throughout a city to communicate with the blind to guide and provide geographic landmarks and local business information.

Walgreens -- the largest drugstore chain in America -- announced this week that they are selling over-the-counter DNA home paternity tests.

Do we create our thoughts?  If we create them, do we own them?  The United States Army is working on new "thought helmets" where "thought synthesis" between soldiers will be immediate an unspoken.
